Fourth Pregnancy :: End of Month 5 :: Week 23+
Okay, so I’m actually almost 6 months, but my camera’s battery charger was lost for almost 2 months and I never got around to taking iPhone photos…so here I am, almost 2 months after my last post, finally catching up.
Life has been BUSY lately. Without going into any real details, we’ve been busy with family, travel, kids, Thanksgiving, and fun. I wouldn’t say I’m too busy to blog, I’m just too busy doing other things to sit in front of my computer and spend the little free time I have writing about life. I’m sure it’s just a phase – I’ll get back into it again – but right now, I’m just enjoying the time I have with the girls and with Travis (well, enjoying…and stressing, worrying, planning, and all the other things that result from having a family of almost 6).
As far as my pregnancy goes, I’m feeling amazing. It took a solid 4 months, but once I hit 16 weeks, I started to feel like myself again. My naps have disappeared (yay!), my nausea is gone, my exhaustion is back to a “normal” level (all things considered), and I feel like even my emotions have been pretty darn steady (though I’ll let Travis confirm that).
I’m in the groove…the good part of pregnancy…where I feel great, I’m not too big, and I’m not too tired. I have absolutely nothing to complain about.
In other news (briefly), the girls are doing great. Mackenzie turned 3 and is working on screaming and demanding less, Abigail is almost 5 and is our little artist extraordinaire, and Caroline is starting to talk up a storm. Their dynamics are both amazing and exhausting. They never stop moving, squealing, chasing, fighting, playing, asking, and much more…they’re doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing at these ages. They’re all extremely happy kids and every once in a while Travis and I give each other a high five and say, “we think we’re doing okay.”
Life is good. This baby is growing. And without further ado, here are a couple pics (once again, lighting is HORRIBLE and I picked the worst spot ever to take my monthly pictures, but oh well!).
Age of Abigail ::
4 years, 10 months
Age of Mackenzie ::
3 years
Age of Caroline ::
18 months
How far along:
23+ weeks (24 tomorrow)
How big is baby:
The size of a papaya
Weight gain:
6 lbs. (18 lbs total)
Maternity clothes:
Now that I finally found my old box of maternity clothes, they’ve been in heavy rotation right alongside all my workout clothes.
Stretch marks:
None.
Belly button:
Innie.
Sleep:
Sleep has been pretty good. I can’t really complain. I go to bed early, our kids sleep all night, and I wake up around 6am. I’d say I’m well rested.
Best moment of the month:
Thanksgiving. It was our 3rd annual hosted turkey day and it was the smoothest, most relaxed, and most delicious day yet!
Food cravings:
Mexican food. I’m making chile verde tomorrow. YUM.
Food aversions:
None.
Symptoms:
Tons of heartburn.
Stomach growth.
Sleepiness (but that has more to do with chasing after 3 other kids than this pregnancy).
Movement:
Baby girl has been making herself known. I started feeling her movements a few weeks ago and she’s only become more and more active by the day.
Gender:
It’s another girl! I’m SO GLAD we found out early.
What I’m looking forward to:
Getting our Christmas tree – the girls are loving the holidays this year and it’s so fun!
What I’m nervous about:
Selecting this baby’s name. We think we’ve made our decision, but I’m having severe commitment issues right now.
What I miss:
A flat stomach. Don’t get me wrong, having a baby belly is fun and all, but I am already missing fitting into my clothes.
Next appointment:
Friday, December 4th.
